Before we could start building, we had to get the bus level. Not an easy task, really, considering the incredibly uneven ground we are parked on. But, with profanity and perseverance (and a little help from our K9 baby), we got it, and were able to start the build!!
Our home-made platforms (risers?) worked really well, and have held up really well, too (we are about 3 months into the build as I write this).

Robbie decided to use up some extra paint we've had around the house to add an extra layer of protection to the sub-floors |
The first thing to build: the bed in the back of the bus!
We love our new Kreg jig so much! It is making our job so much easier.

A little visit from PawPaw! |

Platform can be opened to allow for easier access to the engine. (access door is under the bed) |

Gotta test the weight-bearing….I think it's good! lol |
Finally, we decided to build boxes around the wheel-wells, which will make them much easier for us to build around, over & on top of...
..
And that's the end of Build Day 1 !!!
